Huffpost reports that MSNBC may be replacing Ed Schultz with Ezra Klein. Right now it’s just a rumor, but it would be the next biggest shake up at the network since Keith Olbermann and Cenk Uygur left the network. And it would not be the first time the press got out ahead on a story of an MSNBCer leaving.
Ed has been in trouble with MSNBC brass before. He was suspended without pay after calling Laura Ingrum a “…right wing slut” and after a phone conversation, two years ago, with MSNBC staff, that got so heated he was reported to have said he would “…torch the whole [bleep]ing place.”
In addition, personal life has intruded. In July he announced his wife Wendy was undergoing treatment for cancer and took a few days off for that.
Whatever the reason, the loss of two and possibly a third, of the most powerful liberal progressive voices in America is a sad day indeed.
